Surge Angels exists to educate and prepare rising entrepreneurs and business leaders of color in education. More specifically, these entrepreneurial go-getters all share an important core goal. These leaders of the near future, the vanguard of innovative educational solutions, all aim to increase both high-quality education options and access for low-income children. This is also the core value of Surge Institute, and Surge Angels is the means to accelerate this progressive goal. Together, we can work to ensure a brighter future for our communities.
The Entrepreneurial Support Hub empowers entrepreneurs with a supportive network, funding clarity, and relevant resources to turn ideas into social impact.
A core team of five entrepreneurial support organizations, united by a passion for social innovation, came together through regular conversations about enhancing our work. What began as casual chats turned into a dedicated collaboration. Their shared commitment to systemic change led to the creation of the Entrepreneurial Support Hub, a powerful resource for social entrepreneurs.
Leanlab Education is a nonprofit organization founded by Surge KC alum, Katie Boody Adorno, that specializes in codesign research between education technology companies and schools. They match parents, learners, and educators with edtech developers to inform, develop, and evaluate the next generation of classroom tools. They study how edtech tools work in real classroom environments, and connect promising edtech solutions with resources to support accelerating their impact.
4.0 is a community-driven platform where innovators can bring their ideas to life with the support, resources, and network they need. Together, they’re creating a future where learning evolves to truly meet the needs of students, families, and educators.
